RT 189 & RT 100 decided to have better bonding between their Tables and so they decided to have a joint meeting cum Social and RT 100 decided to travel to Hyderabad to do so. What better occasion than an all Hyderabad Table Joint Social on the 22nd of December 2007, the event “WAR OF THE DJ’S” where it was a joint of the 8 Tables of Hyderabad.
We Martians totaling 17 of us left on the 21st by Train and reached Hyderabad on the 22nd to be received by the Tablers of RT 189, after which we were billeted in their houses, after a quick freshening up we landed at Tr. Rajeev Kabra’s house where the Meeting was scheduled.
GIST OF THE MEETING: (22nd December 2007)
(This meeting was fondly known as the Bhai - Bhai Meeting as the Chairmen of these Tables are brothers).
Chairmen Prakash and Prabhat opened up the meetings and after the formalities permission was taken to differ all business to the next meeting , after which the Seargent Tr. Sudhanshu put up the condition that the meeting can only be conducted in the style of the Superstars Rajnikanth and Chiranjeevi. An ice breaker , The Tablers had to Introduce themselves by adding an Adjectives to their names with the alphabet with which their Names start, this was hilarious as we had rib Cracking Adjectives like Pussy Prakash , Piggy Prabhat , Nut Nitin , Vibrant Veeru , Virile Venkat but I guess the far best was the Adjective given by others to Sharad which was “SHUT UP SHARAD” . This Ice Breaker was moderated by The Area 9 Area Chairman Tr. Anand Khara who was kind to grace the occasion.
The Chairmen’s took the oppurtunity to mention their table activities and achievement during the years from charter. They also assured that this is the beginning of a lifelong friendship between the two Tables and the friendship tour will continue hopefully the next gig will be in Chennai. The Bhai – Bhai meeting was closed and we had a Chowki Lunch fellowship after that.
GIST OF THE CHOWKI LUNCH: (22nd December 2007).
A well Equipped Bar was set up and the Lunch was arranged in typical Hyderabadi style which is called a Chowki lunch and authentic Biryani was served and some amazing lip smacking Kebabs as starters which was a killing combo with the drinks , it was really very comforting to sit cross legged and have lunch on a platform served by people, for many of us it was our first experience of a chowki lunch and authentic Hyderabadi Biryani which was so yummy that most of us overate and when they brought the Desert we hardly had place in our tummies, The desert was the Meeta which is made from almonds and once we tasted it we asked for more , by now we could hardly move from our places and we kind of drowsed in a sitting position for some time , After the Sumptious meal Ladies being Ladies planned a trip to Charminar Market for some shopping and men being men went back to their respective houses for an afternoon siesta.
WAR OF THE DJ’S: ( 22nd December 2007 ).
Finally the night had come for what we at MART 100 were waiting for a long time , THE WAR OF THE DJ’s. this was an event organised by all the Tables of Hyderabad an unique concept wherein they asked each Table to nominate one tabler from their Tables as the DJ for the night and after that Hyderabad’s best DJ , DJ Anand trained them for the event , it was to be held in the very scenic place called “Durgam Cheruvu” The DJ’s console was well decorated by compact Disc and beautifully lit up. It was by far the most Beautiful places to have a party , the Chilly weather added to its beauty.
The DJ’s nominated from each Table tried their hands on the wheel and we could say without any doubt that they could give any professional DJ a run for the money. Loads of Peppy numbers were belted out and through out the event the dance floor was packed , there were close to 120 people at the dance floor.
Our very own Tr. Sam who was nominated by our Table had the crowd yelling when he introduced himself as Sam from the land of Rajnikanth, he had most of them on the dance floor with his peppy numbers in Hindi , Tamil and Telugu , he was the only DJ who played a Telegu number, for once you could see the Bartenders and the Servers smiling and dancing.
DJ Tr. Rahul of HDRT 189 was adjudged as the Super Cool DJ , he mixed the numbers with panache and gave us a Rockin time at the dance floor.
The party rocked till the wee hours of the morning and we crawled back to our respective houses tired but happy.
BLOODY GOOD AFTERNOON: (23rd DECEMBER 2007)
HDRT 189 left no stone unturned to give us a fantastic weekend at Hyderabad, after the hectic day on 22nd; they had planned an excellent Get together cum Brunch at Tr. Gautam’s house, you must be wondering why we named this event as Bloody Good Afternoon, well Tr. Nirav was at the Bar making Bloody Maries and so this afternoon was named thus, could tell you that we will travel all the way to Hyderabad again just to drink those BM’s, they were bloody yummy, Nirav started with a lot of enthusiasm but after three hours of making Bloody maries he was dog tired , every time he made a big jug of BM’s it got over in like 5 minutes , and then we would force him out of his chair to make fresh BM’s.
Doc Srini was at his best making Omelet’s for everybody, I am not sure about if the shape was right but the taste was great, after which we had a jam session on old and new Hindi songs with Tr. Kiron and Tr. Rajeev on the vocals and Tr. Rahul and Tr. Prabhat on the percussions, we were so engrossed in the session little did we realize it was past 4 in the evening, we had a great lunch after which we made our premix drinks for the train and left to the station to catch our Train.
We at MART 100 had a swell time at the Train as well, we played cards, joked around, chatted, drank and made merry throughout the journey, and we crashed after 2 in the Morning.
This Friendship Trip was a real eye opener for many of us because we realized what fun these outstation trips could be and how easily we make friends from different cities.
We would like to place on records our sincere thanks to HDRT 189 for playing such great host and giving us a rocking weekend in Hyderabad and we look forward to more such great Weekends. We have started a new Group called friendsof100@googlegroups.com and all the 189ers are included in that.
MADRAS ANCHORAGE ROUND TABLE 100.
